Embracer Group’s net sales reached $544m during Q3

Last year’s M&As and Q3 report hint at more acquisitions throughout 2022.
The company shared the numbers behind their Q3 success.
Embracer group reported their fruitful 2021 Q3.

Embracer has recently released its third-quarter financial report, covering October 1 to December 2021, and the net sales for the company reached 544 million dollars.

The figure in the Q3 financial report shows a yearly increase of 135% for the gaming firm overall. Lars Wingefors, Embracer CEO and co-founder, stated that the company’s Q3 revenue was back catalog-driven.

The sales department was led by the group’s mobile game developer, Easybrain, reporting $94 million.

The success of Easybrain was followed by Koch Media ($78 million), DECA Games ($70.7 million), Saber Interactive ($51 million), and Gearbox Entertainment ($48.7 million).

The report also stated that the net sales for the company’s partner publishing/film businesses are increased by 67% to $145.5 million.

During the third period of 2021, Embracer had acquired MMO publisher Perfect World Entertainment and Asmodee. In 2021 Embracer had made 38 total acquisitions and set the standard for 2022.

Some of the other bulletpoints from Embracer Group’s Q3 financial report are as follows:

  • Organic growth in constant currency for business area Games amounted to 16%. Pro forma growth in constant currency for business area Games amounted to 19%.
  • EBITDA increased by 70% to SEK 1,489.9 million (878.7), corresponding to an EBITDA margin of 29% (41%).
  • Operational EBIT increased by 86% to SEK 1,119.2 million (603.1) corresponding to an Operational EBIT margin of 22% (28%).
  • Total number of game development projects increased 44% to 216 (150).
  • Total headcount increased by 66% to 9,524 (5,730) and the total number of game developers increased by 69% to 7,824 (4,636). Organic growth for internal headcount in the Group was 16%.
