Hitmarker has published data on paid internship positions in the games industry this year. The data was taken from jobs listings on Hitmarker’s website, between January 1 – September 30, 2022.

Here are the top ten companies with the most internship positions;

While Triple-A companies such as EA, Ubisoft, and Epic Games dominate the list as they are some of the largest companies in the industry, Team Liquid is the only esports company to make the top ten list. The next esports company to make the list is Team BDS, a Swiss organization with five roles.
League of Legends developer Riot Games, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment, and Rockstar Games Parent company Take-Two Interactive are among the notable names on the list as well.
While not a game developer, Unity Technologies has also opened 33 paid internships. Gameloft and Jam City are the two mobile game developers on the list, with 21 and 18 internships open respectively.
Hitmarker is a gaming and esports jobs platform, founded in 2020. The company only allows job postings of paid positions on its website. On October 22, Hitmarker announced that there hasn’t been an improvement in the proportion of paid internships in gaming when compared to total available gaming jobs.
