Global Top Round (GTR), the interactive accelerator program for studios, has announced the launch of a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) branch. The new department is set to focus on 100% equity sales, acquisitions, and fundraising. The company aims to shape the future of game industry by handling deals between $10M to $250M.

The company stated that the new department will assist game companies who wish to perform exits and work with entrepreneurs for fundraising. The M&A branch will also act as an advisor on game company acquisitions.

Reportedly, Jacques Benchetrit will lead the department as Head of M&A. His previous experiences include a one-and-a-half-year stint with Zordix as an M&A Manager, in which he realized that smaller deals in the game industry needed more attention and advice from professionals. The experienced executive then made the decision to join GTR.

Benchetrit shared thoughts and feelings about the newest branch of GTR:

“At our core, we are bankers who game. We appreciate gaming as an art form and want to protect industry artists and entrepreneurs from signing bad deals. We’re going to change the way deals are done in gaming, ensure both sellers and buyers achieve their goals, and help push the industry forward.”

Earlier this year, the GXC subsidiary announced a new seed funding program, which was declared a year long. The GTR investment program was expanded after GXC received a $13.8 million investment last year. Within the scope of this program, GTR aimed to invest between $150,000 to $300,000 in chosen game industry startups.

GTR stated that this program will allow studios to collaborate with GTR to create a three-month plan without signing into any agreements. The company also mentioned that it will assist partners with self-publishing, publishing, or venture capital plans.
