Black Game Developer Fund announced that it supports five new projects.

Humble Bundle was committed to giving 1 million dollars annually to the Black Game Developers Fund, which was established to support black developers in 2020. In this context, new projects that Black Game Developers Fund will support this year have been announced.

The five new projects to be supported in the third annual funding of the Black Game Developers Fund are as follows:

  • 6Degrees by Code Blue Games
  • Arcus Chroma by GxGrainSon
  • Unannounced Joseph Hooker project
  • Unannounced Ritual Games project
  • Weather Sweater by Ryan Huggins

Humble Bundle previously appointed Sithe Ncube and Justin Woodward as strategic advisors to the Black Game Developers Fund. Sithe Ncube said in an interview with GamesIndustry:

“Games need a lot of resources, and some people don’t even have the resources to get to a phase where they can present a decent game, even if they have the skills to make one. “I think being able to give people more access to resources, especially earlier in the development process, as well as different forms of mentorship — that would be really helpful.”

The Black Game Developers Fund initiative has supported more than 25 projects with the latest funding. The initiative, which was founded by Humble Bundle, then signed with eight developers to stand on its own feet and went through the rebranding process. Still, the tight ties between Humble Bundle and the Black Game Developers Fund remain.
