Bangalore-based publisher company Bombay Play announced that it had received a $7 million investment from the Series A funding round. With this latest investment, the company’s capital has increased to 9.5 million dollars.
Kalaari Capital led the funding round. The round featured many veteran participants such as Lumikai FUnd, Leo Capital, PlayCo, and newcomers such as Winzo, AdvantEdge VC, and AMEA Ventures. Bombay Play will use this latest investment to expand its hyper-social game pool and support new projects.
Bombay Play was founded in 2018 by Oliver Jones, a former employee of Zynga, and Abhas Saroha, a former employee of Moonfrog. The company, founded by two experienced names, has 50 employees. According to the company’s statement, it aims to double the number of employees in a short time.
