Microsoft kicks off Game Pass family plan, allows five people to enjoy full benefits

For the time being, only Xbox Insiders members in Colombia and Ireland can test the feature.

Microsoft is hard at work to improve gamers’ experience and add greater value to their revolutionary product Game Pass. The bosses at Big Tech company decided to roll out a new Game Pass offer, which allows multiple players (up to five players) to share all the Game Pass Ultimate benefits.

This new plan makes it even easier to play the games available on the Game Pass with friends and family across console, PC, and cloud. Choosing this plan allows you to share all the benefits that come with Ultimate Game Pass with up to four others, including special content.

The plan is dubbed “Xbox Game Pass – Insider Preview” and it’s only available in Colombia and Ireland at the moment, but more countries will follow according to Microsoft’s official blog post.

While the main account owner has to be an “Xbox Insider”, the other four accounts don’t need to be, however, they must be living in the same country as you. Microsoft says the enrollment is limited for the time being.

Microsoft’s 2022 Q4 earnings showed lower engagement hours and monetization in both first and third-party content for Xbox, and this could be one of the solutions the gaming giant came up with.

Xbox Game Pass library will power up significantly, once Microsoft closes Activision Blizzard’s acquisition, which is expected to happen in this fiscal year.
