MultiVersus crossed 20 million players in a month

The open beta for MultiVersus started on July 26.

“The ultimate cross-over fighter” MultiVersus reached 20 million players in less than a month. The game is still in the open beta period, which started on July 26th and managed to grab the player’s attention in a short amount of time.

MultiVersus was developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Games. It could be described as Warner Bros’ attempt to rival Super Smash Brothers. As the number of games in the platform fighter genre is increasing, MultiVersus is trying to outshine other games with its wide selection of different characters. The game brings fan favorites like Harley Queen, Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark, and many more together. It also includes the big three of DC Comics: Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

The game impresses with its voice cast: John Dimaggio, Kevin Conroy, Matthew Lillard, and Maisie Williams voice their iconic characters. With the addition of their voices, seeing Arya Stark interacting with Batman creates a new experience for the gamers.

Apart from these characters who are already in the game, Morty Smith from Rick and Morty is joining the game on August 23rd. Black Adam (DC), Stripe (Gremlins), and Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty) will be included in the upcoming month and the number of playable characters will increase.

Besides the well-known characters, the game has an original character called Reindog, and according to the company’s statement, many more will follow in future updates.

MultiVersus Season 1 began on August 15th, including a Battle Pass for players to earn in-game rewards. As part of season 1, Classic Arcade and Ranked modes were added to the game.

MultiVersus Open Beta is free on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. The game prioritizes 2v2 online matches and fully supports cross-play.
