Genre defining Dark Souls series might be coming to Netflix as anime series. According to GiantFreakinRobot‘s resources, the streaming giant is in the works of developing the anime series based on the events of the first game in the series.
Netflix has actively developed video games into both live-action and anime series. The Witcher comes to mind first as it is one of the biggest live-action productions. For animated series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, Castlevania, Arcane, and The Cuphead Show are big hits for Netflix.
Dark Souls series are perfect to adapt into animated series since the games are set in a dark, medieval world. The story of the games is more suited for an anime than a live-action, given the designs of the characters and the world.
The news is up to speculation right now since nothing has been officially announced yet. Considering most of the Netflix rumors turn out to be true, including Henry Cavill leaving The Witcher, it is safe to assume that a Dark Souls anime might come to Netflix soon.
