Metaverse is growing fast and major brands of all kinds are working hard to cement their place in it. Pringles is the world’s leading potato chips company and they’ve been quite in touch with gamers since, well, since forever. The food company launched a brand new competition in which the winner gets to be an NPC in Dovetail Games’ Train Sim World 2 and get paid £20k (nearly $25k).
The ad campaign created by Grey London runs through Europe, but the competition itself is only open to applicants from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. What’s the job then in this virtual world? The winner gets their likeness modeled in 3D for the train simulation game and they’ll be a Pringles vending machine filler. Not the most compelling job, perhaps, but getting paid real money to appear in a video game is pretty exciting.
Xbox is also one of the main partners of the competition. The runner-up will get a customized Pringles Xbox Series S, sadly, not a Series X, but it’s still a decent price considering how you don’t have to make any major investment the enter the competition, all you need is a Pringles can. The game is also available for free to Xbox Game Pass players.
How to join Pringles’ NPC competition
As stated earlier in the article, the competition only allows applications living in the UK, Germany, and France. If you’re already from one of these countries, then great. All you have to do is post a creative video or image with a Pringles can on Instagram or Twitter, explaining why you would be the best person for the snack company’s virtual vending machine filler job. Alternatively, you can enter the competition via Pringles’ official Facebook page by posting your submission under this thread.
In order to enter the competition, your post has to include the #PringlesStayInTheGame hashtag and mention @Pringles.uki and it can’t be longer than 50 words. The applications for the NPC role in the game are open till 6th July 2022. The winner will appear in the game starting in September.
