PUBG Mobile and HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact hit milestone figures in global player spending. PUBG Mobile has reached over $9 billion, while Genshin Impact hit $4 billion.
PUBG Mobile launched in March 2018, and according to Sensor Tower, has reached a total of 1.1 billion downloads across App Store and Google Play. From January 2022 to September 2022, the game saw 104.4 million downloads, which is a 27% decline compared to 2021. In the same period, the game made $1.6 billion, which is also a 27% decrease compared to 2021.
Genshin Impact launched on September 28, 2020, and hit $3.7 million in lifetime revenue ahead of its second anniversary, while also reaching 126.4 million downloads on mobile. The game is also available on PC and Playstation. Between Q1 and Q3 2022, the title generated $1.4 billion in consumer spending and reached 37.3 million installs globally during this time, down 7% from 2021.
