Genshin Impact, developed by MiHoYo, was the second-highest-paid mobile game worldwide in December 2021, with gross revenue of $134.3 million.
About 28 percent of Genshin Impact’s revenue came from China, followed by 23.4 percent from the United States. The next top-grossing game was Roblox, followed by Coin Master, developed by Moon Active and Honor of Kings, another Tencent game.
The global mobile games market generated an estimated $7.4 billion in revenue from player spending on the App Store and Google Play in December 2021, marking a year-over-year decline of close to 2 percent.
The #1 market for global revenue in December 2021 was the United States, with $2.2 billion, accounting for 29.6 percent of total player spending worldwide. Japan was number 2 in revenue with 20.3 percent, followed by China, which does not have Google Play, with 15.7 percent.
