Los Angeles-based developer and publisher, Riot Games, has announced the winning nonprofits from its end-of-year charity voting campaign. In December, Riot announced that it would allocate $6 million for players to vote on how Riot, in partnership with GlobalGiving, would distribute the funds across the 83 pre-selected nonprofits.
Jimmy Hahn, Senior Manager of Social Impact at Riot Games, commented:
“Thanks to our incredible players, we were able to make a difference for 83 nonprofit organizations worldwide. 2022 was a great year for the Social Impact Fund, and we’re excited to bring players more opportunities in 2023 to make meaningful changes in their local communities through our games.”

The company stated that an organization from Vietnam had to drop out of the voting process so the other two Vietnamese nonprofits split the full prize pool.
Riot had guaranteed a minimum grant of $15,000 to each participating nonprofit. The company stated that at the end of the two-week voting period, over 775,000 players had cast their vote for which nonprofit they wanted to support.
