Saudi Arabia-based mobile game developer Sandsoft Games has appointed Ahmed Sharif, formerly Meta’s Head of AR, VR, Metaverse Automation and Platform Engineering, as their Chief Technology Officer.

Ahmed’s employment is a signifier of Sandsoft’s future success, aiming to become a leading company in the mobile game industry. Given Ahmed’s experience in top gaming companies such as EA and Sony Interactive Entertainment, the experienced leader will thrive in technology and innovation across the business, which has a global team of 50+ people across Sandsoft’s headquarters in Riyadh and offices in Barcelona, Helsinki, and Shanghai.
With his career as a senior engineering leader and strategist, Ahmed brings his seasoned experience to Sandsoft Games. His career consists of working for top gaming brands such as EA, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Criterion Games. He also worked in the development of Meta Quest 2, PSVR1, PS4, PS4 Pro, and EA’s Frostbite game engine.
Ahmed will focus on enhancing and growing the Sandsoft Publishing Platform while directing their game development and supporting the studio and engineering teams in their development journey.
