The Pokemon Company, known for the Pokémon franchise, announced its first financial data for 2022. Many games produced by the company, especially Pokémon Go!, positively impacted revenues.
The Pokémon Company is a private gaming company. Under Japanese law, private companies are not obliged to disclose financial data. Still, The Pokémon Company and some other companies provide the Japanese government with financial reports on their annual revenues, which are published in the Japanese government’s official gazette.
According to The Pokémon Company’s financial data published in the Japanese official journal, the company generated revenue of approximately 1.6 billion US dollars (204 billion yen) in 2022. This means a 70.4% year-over-year increase in the company’s revenues.
The company’s total operating profit saw an increase of 115% and reached $460 million. Net profits, on the other hand, increased 123% to $320 million.
Overall, this was The Pokémon Company’s 24th fiscal year. The games that stood out with their revenue this fiscal year were Pokémon Go!, Pokemon Snap, released in April 2021, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl, released in November 2021 Pokemon Legends: Arceus, launched in January 2022.
