Niantic and Capcom’s collaborative venture Monster Hunter Now, an augmented reality mobile game in the renowned Monster Hunter series, has hit a remarkable milestone – 10 million downloads just one month after its global release.
The game, released on September 14, 2023, quickly garnered widespread attention and enthusiasm from players worldwide. To put this achievement into perspective, it was downloaded 5 million times within its first week of release.
While Monster Hunter Now managed to outperform some of Niantic’s other titles, like Pikmin Bloom, which saw 2 million downloads within its first two weeks, it still lags behind the legendary Pokémon Go, which remains an unshakable giant in the industry, having achieved a whopping 75 million downloads within its first two weeks after launch.
“We are delighted that so many people from all over the world have been playing our game in the first month since its global release,” said Kei Kawai, COO of Niantic. “The adventure of this game has only just begun, and we will continue to respond to feedback and work hard to bring more fun and surprises to our Hunters in the months to come.”
“We are very grateful that so many people have been enjoying Monster Hunter Now in the month since its global release,” says Ryozo Tsujimoto, Producer of the Monster Hunter Series, Capcom. “Players all over the world are responding to being able to play a true Monster Hunter experience in a unique and casual way in the real world.”
To commemorate this achievement and to show appreciation to the dedicated Monster Hunter Now community, Niantic is offering all players a gift. Players need to enter the code “MHNow10M” on the Monster Hunter Now Web Store to receive the reward.
