Ubisoft announced a Global Creative Office entity that will separate the studios from centralization. The company aims to increase the autonomy of its different studios and creative teams to boost creativity.

With this announcement, Ubisoft has given the impression that their studios will have more freedom moving forward. According to the press release, the company believes this will facilitate making decisions, increase the responsibility of studios, enhance the creative flow, and boost the overall quality of all Ubisoft games.
Reportedly, the new structure will be like pillars, each supporting Ubisoft by concentrating on its own expertise while staying away from a centralized organization.
Yves Guillemot, CEO and Co-Founder of Ubisoft, used these sentences to share thoughts and feelings:
“In a fast-moving industry, it’s essential that we continue to adapt. I am grateful for Igor’s contribution to refining Ubisoft’s creative approach and for his commitment to bringing fresh ideas that level up the way we create. An exemplary leader, Igor has set the foundations for a new organization that will allow Ubisoft to successfully deliver on its content strategy with new processes and clearer roles and responsibilities.“
The statement also notes that Chief Creative Officer Igor Manceau will leave his position at Ubisoft next month after spending only one year at the CCO role. The reason behind this departure was marked as personal, and Manceau also shared a message with these remarks:
“Over the last 24 years, I got the chance to meet and work with talented and inspiring teams around the world. I am grateful for the opportunity to have taken part in this fantastic adventure. I am confident in Ubisoft’s potential to continue surprising and delighting players for years to come.”
The news came right after Guillemot’s statement, “Creation requires a bit of friction” in an interview. This statement was met with a negative reaction from the community, rolling back to 2020 allegations of toxicity in Ubisoft.
