Two successful game and art studios came together.

Creative arts and developer studio Virtuos Games has acquired Volmi Games for an undisclosed sum. Singapore-based Virtuos Games has successful games such as Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Outer Worlds, and Final Fantasy X in its portfolio.

Ukraine-based Volmi Games, on the other hand, consists of a team of approximately 140 people. The company, which provides artistic and visual services to the game industry, has contributed to many games such as Diablo 2: Resurrected, Metro Exodus, and Paladins.

After the acquisition, the name of the Ukrainian company will be changed to Volmi – A Virtuos Studio. A new model will also be implemented in the management of the company. Gilles Langourieux, CEO of Virtuos, said:

“What Volmi has achieved in the five years since its inception is truly remarkable. We are excited to leverage the team’s deep art production expertise and high growth potential to ensure our continued success. Looking forward to working with and growing alongside Volmi, as we expand our capabilities together as a team.”

Vladimir Loban, Co-Founder of Volmi, added:

“Joining Virtuos is a natural next step in Volmi’s growth journey. Supported by Virtuos’ global portfolio of AAA projects, end-to-end art production, and full-stack game development solutions, we are confident of accelerating Volmi’s growth and moving up the value chain to provide even better content for our clients.”

This is fascinating news. Both companies have games and projects in their portfolio that are considered “works of art” by many players. The combination of these two art and development teams can bring us games with really high quality and beautiful visuals.
