The NFTs will serve as a base for future Metaverse avatars as OASYX explained, “This range of NFTs will include 11 characters from the first three Virtua Fighter games into OASYX’s creative worlds, creating a unique and exciting experience for new and old fans of Virtua Fighter alike.”
Virtua Fighter was co-created by Suzuki and released in October 1993. The game has received four main sequels and several spin-offs. The highly influential first Virtua Fighter game is widely recognized as the first 3D fighting game released.
Sega licensed the IP to Yu Suzuki for the NFT project but the company is not being involved in the project.
