Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to position Dubai as a global hub in the 200$ billion gaming industry.
Since the program’s inception, more than 60 new gaming companies have been established in the country. This brings the total to over 350+ companies operating in the sector, including 260 firms focused specifically on game development.
The country’s appeal goes beyond its tax advantages and infrastructure. Of the companies operating in the sector, 67% have made The Pearl of the Gulf their headquarters, further cementing its role as a strategic base for gaming ventures. While 12% of these are large global companies, the majority are small to mid-sized enterprises, fueling creative innovation.
Faisal Kazim, Director of Future Foresight at the Dubai Future Foundation, credits this growth to unified efforts. “Each one of us in Dubai’s games industry is making a difference,” he noted, acknowledging the collective contributions that have shaped the city’s gaming ecosystem.
