Limbic Entertainment is best known for Might & Magic series and Tropico 6. Bandai Namco had been very clear about its intent to expand beyond Japan. This acquisition is lined with its strategy to expand Western development capabilities.

Bandai Namco Europe CEO Arnaud Muller said in a press release:

“This investment is much more than a strategic move for Bandai Namco. For the past three years, we have worked together on the creation of new IPs with Limbic.

“The first game Park Beyond will be released in 2023 but there is much more to come. This investment is just the continuity of our existing relationship, and we will help Limbic become the new reference in strategy and simulation games.”

Limbic Entertainment was founded in 2002, and its latest game Park Beyond was announced in August 2021, which will be the first game released with Bandai Namco Europe partnership.
