Daedalic Entertainment is a German video game developer and publisher founded in Hamburg in 2007. It’s known for focusing on point-and-click video games and games that stand out with compelling storytelling and characters. Known for games such as The Whispered World, A New Beginning, and Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, the company signed an agreement with local game developer Core Engage.
Alp Geven, Co-Founder of Core Engage, announced the agreement on his LinkedIn account. Stating that they received a supportive attitude and positive feedback from the player community and that they negotiated with more than thirty game publishers, Geven noted that after a few months, they signed a distribution agreement with Daedalic Entertainment.
He expressed his excitement to host Dadelic Entertainment CEO Carsten Fichtelmann and Publishing Director Jonas Hüsges in their offices in Ortaköy, and Geven added that signing the agreement in Istanbul was especially meaningful for them.
Within the scope of the agreement, the distributor of the game called New Cycle, which Core Engage is working on, is expected to be Daedalic Entertainment. The game presents a story focusing on surviving and rebuilding civilization after a devastating solar storm.
The game demo can be downloaded from Steam. Since the full version has yet to be released, it’s only available to add to wishlists. On the game’s Steam page, Daedalic Entertainment appears as the publisher. The game’s in-game images, design, color palette, and graphics give the impression of being inspired by popular post-apocalyptic survival RTS (post-apocalyptic survival strategy) games, such as Frostpunk, End Zone: A World Apart, and Surviving the Aftermath. Time will tell whether New Cycle will surpass their success and if it will become an established title among the fans of the genre. On the other hand, this agreement with Daedalic Entertainment indicates the game’s potential and provides serious support for the game to acquire this place.
