Veterans from EA DICE and Embark Studios have announced the formation of Wayfinder Games, a Sweden-based independent game development studio. The executive team includes former Star Wars Battlefront Creative Director Dennis Brännvall, Production Director Adam Clark, Technical Director Manne Ederyd, and Studio Director Fia Tjernberg.
According to the press release, the newly-formed studio aims to create original role-playing games for players worldwide. Wayfinder’s founders have former experience in Creative Direction, Engineering Architecture, Production, Marketing, and People Operations.
The developer team has previously worked on top-grossing titles across consoles and PCs, including Star Wars Battlefront, Battlefield, Angry Birds 2, Star Stable, Anarchy Online and Minecraft. Wayfinder currently has 18 developers on its team and plans to expand further in 2023.

The company aims to create a welcoming and fair working space, offering remote work, flat salary increases, and unscheduled afternoons for focus time and flexibility. Wayfinder stated it’s recognizing that the game industry is taking giant leaps towards a more sustainable future.
