DRS, a newly established AI-native consumer mobile app studio, has announced that it has joined Andreessen Horowitz’s Speedrun accelerator program (SR007) in San Francisco.
Founded by a team with backgrounds spanning gaming, artificial intelligence, product development, growth, and entrepreneurship, DRS aims to build AI-powered consumer mobile applications for a global audience. Co-Founder and CEO of DRS, Osman Elsöz, said the company’s name is inspired by Formula 1’s Drag Reduction System (DRS), reflecting its ambition to combine deep product expertise with rapid execution.
In his announcement, Elsöz shared that his own career includes consumer research at Procter & Gamble, leading data and machine learning initiatives at a gaming company later acquired by SciPlay, and building multiple consumer applications independently before launching DRS.
Joining him as co-founder is Talha Alver, whom Elsöz has worked with since their time at Procter & Gamble and later at SciPlay. Alver most recently worked at xAI before joining DRS. The founding team also includes entrepreneur Ahmet Onur, Founder of Kolektif House, who Elsöz said played a key role in bringing the team together and supporting the company from its earliest stages.
Elsöz also thanked the a16z Speedrun team for backing DRS and acknowledged several individuals who supported the company throughout its formation, including Joshua Lu, Marcus Segal, Andrew Chen, Lester Chen, and Tom Hammer.
The company describes its acceptance into the Speedrun accelerator as the beginning of its journey and indicated that additional announcements will be shared in the coming months.
