Nintendo’s mobile games are doing pretty well, but one game stands out the most according to the data provided by Sensor Tower. Fire Emblem Heroes is the first Nintendo mobile game to surpass $1 billion in global player spending and the RPG accounts for 54.5% of Nintendo’s total mobile revenue to this date.
The highly-popular RPG game is now slowing down either. Per the report, Fire Emblem Heroes is the top revenue-generating Nintendo mobile game in Q1 2022, which is nearly $30 million and makes up for more than half of the player spending across Google Play and App Store.
Other mobile games from Nintendo are also doing well, but the number two and three’s combined revenue barely reach half of what Fire Emblem Heroes brought in so far. Mario Kart Tour takes second place with $282 million and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is ranked third with $281.6 million.
The image below shows Dragalia Lost as Nintendo mobile’s fourth top-grossing game with $168 million, followed by another Mario title, Super Mario Run with $87 million. Yet another Mario game, Dr. Mario World, is ranked as the sixth most revenue-generating mobile game for Nintendo with $14 million and counting.
In terms of downloads, Super Mario Run takes first place with 310.7 million, followed by Mario Kart Tour with 227.2 million and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp with 65.4 million; Fire Emblem Heroes is ranked fourth with 17.8 million downloads, despite being the money-maker of the video game giant.
This quarter alone, Fire Emblem Heroes generated $29 million in global player spending and the game was only downloaded about 121k times up to this point. Sensor Tower says the RPG made up over 50 percent of the total revenue of Nintendo’s mobile games in the three-month period.
Overall, Nintendo’s mobile games generated a total of $1.8 billion from global player spending across Google Play and Apple’s App Store. Considering how Nintendo’s mobile games department is rather young, these are some impressive numbers. Time will tell how the other titles will do.
