ForeVR secures $10 million in Series A funding round

Company wants to solidify its place as the “Wii Sports of VR”

US-based company ForeVR announced a $10 million series in Series A funding round led by Lobby Capital. Other participants included existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Galaxy Interactive.

Founded by Marcus Segal and Michael Pagano Doom in 2020, ForeVR aims to use the funding to solidify its place as the “Wii Sports of VR.” Last year the company raised $8.5 million from angel investors Mark Pincus, founder of Zynga, and Emmett Shear and Justin Kan, founders of Twitch, which brings the total funding to $18.5 million.

ForeVR has released ForeVR Bowl and ForeVR Darts on Meta Quest before releasing ForeVR Cornhole in September 2022 and plans to release ForeVR Pool before 2023.

Meta’s recently released Q3 2022 financial report shows a steep 52% income decline. Meta’s AR/VR division, Reality Labs, contributed with a $9.44 billion operating loss. Meta recently released the new VR headset Meta Quest Pro with a price tag of $1,499.
