In the past weeks, we shared GDC 2020 or Game Developers Conference cancellation news. After that, we got a lot of cancellation news for most of the industry’s events. Many also went digital like BAFTA Game Awards or Pocket Gamer with its first online conference. Last week, the team behind GDC announced their digital plans and lately the posted the virtual talks and awards lineup, which is free.
Speakers pre-recorded their talks
All of the virtual talks will be live-streamed on the official GDC 2020 Twitch channel. As expected, speakers pre-recorded their talks and you can watch all of the lineups for free. Many experts included in the lineup like 343 Industries, Playground Games, BioWare, Gearbox, and much more. Also, we will get behind-the-scenes explorations of hit independent games such as A Short Hike, Baba is You, and Kine. That’s not all, there will be an assortment of talks offering new and useful advice on how to tackle the core challenges of game development.
Independent Games Festival and Game Developers Choice Awards are an important part of GDC 2020. These ceremonies will also be free to stream virtually starting at 5pm PT (8pm ET) next Wednesday, March 18th on GDC’s Twitch channel. Don’t worry if you missed a GDC 2020 talk
In case you missed a talk – which you will – don’t worry. All streamed virtual talks will be available for free on GDC Vault. Many will also be posted on the event’s official Youtube channel in the upcoming weeks and months. Most of the talks will be thirty minutes long. We advise you to watch most of the topics that interest you, especially if you are a game developer.
