Tower of Fantasy was launched across iOS and Android devices, alongside a Windows version for PC. The game will arrive on Steam and Epic Games Store as well, but Level Infinite is yet to announce a set-in-stone date for these versions. Tower of Fantasy is expected to launch on Steam and Epic during Q4 2022, however, as mentioned earlier, PC players don’t need to wait to enjoy the game as they can download the client and start playing right away.

Deniz Kirca, EU Growth Manager at Tencent shared the following message on his LinkedIn page:

“Today we launched Tower of Fantasy globally. It’s my first major launch in Tencent and proud to be a part of its successful start in Europe; the #1 Downloaded game in 21 European countries and topping Twitch charts.

“I want to take this chance to congratulate all my colleagues in the EU and in China for their hard work and effort! See you in Aida!”

The game also reached the top three on most watched games on Twitch, and so far topping the charts in the US as well. However, the early days for highly anticipated titles like ToF usually show good numbers across all metrics. The game’s successful launch also brought some problems along; as players are facing long waiting queues just to get on the servers and several network-related issues also happen during peak hours.

Hotta Studios released a statement and acknowledged that the game has some shortcomings, but assured that the team is working on fixing them as soon as possible.

Finally, we would like to say that we are well aware that Tower of Fantasy still has many shortcomings. We will work hard to improve them, but some bugs and issues may be unavoidable after the official launch. We have anticipated the possibility of certain problems arising, formulated the according debugging time limits and specifications, and urged our staff in the corresponding departments to implement them.

It will be interesting to observe if Tower of Fantasy will be able to keep up the good numbers and retain the users it acquired during the early hype period. Tencent and its subsidiaries have been expanding worldwide aggressively, especially following the multiple rejections coming from China’s regulatory body NPPA.
