Kian Hozouri is the co-founder of ByteBrew, which is an all-in-one mobile game growth platform. Recently, ByteBrew and Google partnered up to bring advanced game analytics to developers, empowering studios to enhance gameplay and scale effortlessly.
We interviewed Kian to learn more about ByteBrew’s partnership with Google, the state of the analytics industry in 2024, and future predictions that await the industry.
Can you share how the partnership between ByteBrew and Google Cloud came to be?
The partnership between ByteBrew and Google Cloud stemmed from the shared vision of empowering developers with cutting-edge tools and infrastructure. With Google Cloud supporting such a diverse community of game developers ranging from large publishers to small studios, we recognized the need for seamless, unified solutions that help developers thrive in a rapidly changing industry.
Our mission remains fixed – to deliver powerful, scalable data solutions that simplify game operations, reduce operating costs, enhance data-driven decision-making, and drive measurable bottom-line portfolio growth.
How would you describe the state of the analytics industry in 2024?
One of consolidation and clawbacks. Legacy players in the industry shuttered, and a few have restructured their pricing and feature sets to help manage their costs.
What were the most significant challenges faced by analytics companies like ByteBrew this year, and what strategies or innovations helped overcome them?
2024 was a record-setting year for ByteBrew, enhancing our platform to deliver unmatched value and innovation — as shown in the developer-driven product updates and launches just within the year. This has been accomplished by both the scalable technology the platform was built upon and the agile team at ByteBrew.
For other legacy platforms in the analytics space, the games market itself has undergone significant shifts, forcing those incumbents to redefine their pricing, scale back in-demand features, or close down entirely. With legacy platforms operating on decade-old infrastructure, there isn’t much they can do to adapt to the shifting landscape without also passing along the effects to the developer community.
As other market incumbents tread water, developers can rely on ByteBrew to support their teams, and uncover new opportunities to grow their bottom line, just as we’ve done for over 10,000 studios and developers.
ByteBrew has always focused on supporting the developer community. What are your ways to provide consistently great support to your fast-growing developer community?
Building with the community is an interwoven cultural value at ByteBrew. From the start, we’ve held the fixed goal of empowering and educating the studios using ByteBrew. In 2024 alone, we released over 100 developer-driven product updates and launches, shaped directly by feedback from our passionate developer community, ensuring our tools continuously align with the emerging real-world challenges they face.
How do you see the role of AI and machine learning evolving in game analytics in the upcoming years?
As an end product for clients, we’re seeing very novice implementations of AI aimed to, at most, quicken a querying process using a chat prompt. Most concerning is the almost universal practice of releasing AI tools to customers that send private user data to AI platforms for these products without regard for data privacy.
Where we see AI really taking shape in the future is analytics platforms building bespoke trained models deployed independently using their own platform data hosted under their own environments.
How do you envision ByteBrew shaping the future of game analytics, and what excites you most about the gaming industry in the coming years?
ByteBrew is on a course to reshape the segmented and silo’d tooling ecosystem in the games industry with our all-in-one platform. In an unprecedented timeframe, ByteBrew has rapidly emerged as the 10th largest product footprint for games on the app stores – now analyzing over 50 billion data points per day.
What excites us the most in the approaching year is not only continuing to foster growth for our amazing developer community but also the next product verticals in the industry we are set to disrupt next year.
