As per usual, the mobile games industry pulls ahead of the pack and it’s expected to generate more than half of the revenue for 2022, crossing $103 billion approximately. The report also suggests Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa will be the main regions providing player growth in 2022 and in the upcoming years.

This report also includes —for the very first time— market sizing per ecosystem including major players such as PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Epic Games Store, Apple App Store and several Android App stores.

Newzoo also dives deep to understand and offer insights into consumer perception and expectations around NFTs, blockchain games, metaverse and play-to-earn games. The data provider says they have surveyed more than 4,000 respondents across the US, Germany, Vietnam and Philippines to hear the voice of potential players.

The company also puts an emphasis on how the market is changing and evolving into a borderless ecosystem across gaming platforms.
