Publisher Microids has announced the forthcoming release of Agatha Christie’s renowned detective game, “Murder on the Orient Express,” on various gaming platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will launch on October 19th, 2023, and will also introduce a Deluxe Edition with additional content. While remaining faithful to the original plot, this adaptation adds surprising elements to captivate dedicated fans of Agatha Christie’s work.
The Deluxe Edition will include the main video game, a 48-page artbook showcasing the game’s artwork, the original digital soundtrack, and an Orient Express ticket bookmark.
Developed by Microids Studio Lyon, Murder on the Orient Express boasts the artistic direction of Cédric Peyravernay, a renowned French artist recognized for his contributions to esteemed video game projects, such as Diablo IV, Prey, Dishonored 2, Dishonored, and two episodes of the Netflix series Love, Death + Robots. The Deluxe Edition’s artbook will showcase some of Peyravernay’s exceptional character design work.
Murder on the Orient Express takes place on the legendary Orient Express train, where the iconic detective Hercule Poirot endeavors to solve a murder mystery amidst a fascinating cast of characters, each concealing their secrets and motivations. Players will navigate a web of twists and turns, utilizing their deductive skills and intellect to unravel the truth and expose it to light.
Murder on the Orient Express is a faithful yet augmented adaptation set in 2023, providing a fresh perspective. It also introduces a new character named Joanna Locke, offering playable flashbacks outside the train. Players will have the opportunity to delve into the mind of the legendary detective Hercule Poirot, exploring mind maps and making deductions to enhance the gameplay. Throughout each chapter, numerous puzzles with object manipulations are strategically placed. The game promises a gripping adventure filled with surprising twists, keeping players engaged until the very end.
The game boasts a full voice-over in English, German, and French. Murder on the Orient Express is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 19th, 2023.
