Netflix plans to add 40 more games to its library this year

The streaming giant aims to develop a broad portfolio of games in different genres and formats.

Leading digital stream platform Netflix shared a post on its blog page and revealed that the company plans to add 40 more games in 2023. Streaming giant’s gaming arm Netflix Games was launched in 2021 and has released 55 games so far.

In January, Netflix debuted Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, the first of three exclusive games from Ubisoft coming to Netflix. Next up from Ubisoft on April 18 is Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace, a rogue-lite game set in the wacky universe. The Award-winning Monument Valley franchise will also come to Netflix in 2024.

Netflix added Highwater, an atmospheric, story-driven adventure, and Terra Nil, a reverse city-builder. Highwater is available to play right now, and Terra Nil will be available on March 28. The company also plans to release a sequel to its most popular game, Too Hot to Handle: Love is a Game, based on its immensely popular dating show. Netflix will partner with Nanobit again to release the new Too Hot to Handle game later this year. 

The streaming giant had a very strong 2022 and seems to continue its growth in 2023. Netflix has already released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and Vikings: Valhalla will join the platform. 80s-inspired beat ’em up game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is available on mobile exclusively for Netflix Members.

Since its launch, Netflix Games acquired four studios, opened two new studios.
