During the Ubisoft Forward event, French video game giant Ubisoft announced many new mobile games. After the release of The Division: Resurgence, the giant company revealed that it is working on more mobile games.
In a move that will surprise many, Ubisoft announced that it has signed a three-game deal with Netflix and released an “in-engine” trailer for Codename Jade, the first game belonging to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The French producer stated that this game would be open world and take place in Ancient China.
Assassin’s Creed is not the only game to be released on Netflix. After all this, Ubisoft announced the sequel version of the Valiant Hearts game, which was released on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms in the past, and will come to mobile platforms. The game is about the World War I period and has a unique art design.
Alongside Valiant Hearts, a new Mighty Quest game is coming. Valiant Hearts is a Rogue-like game and stands out with its unique art style and combat mechanics. The game’s first version was released for iOS and Android in 2019, and the sequel will be playable via Netflix Games in 2023.
Mike Verdu, Vice President of Games at Netflix, commented on the partnership:
“We’re thrilled to work with Ubisoft, whose track record creating memorable worlds for fans is unmatched. This partnership will provide our members with exclusive access to some of the most exciting game franchises as we continue to build a catalog of great mobile games for our members around the world.”
As you know, Netflix has been continuing its gaming adventure for a long time. The giant company, which continues to expand its library day-by-day, announced a few weeks ago that it would bring multiplayer and username features to its games. Also, Netflix added a party game called Heads Up! to its library. It seems like Netflix never wants to stop in the game industry.
Ubisoft, on the other hand, is quite active these days. It is evident that the company, which brings games such as Rainbow Six Siege mobile and The Division: Resurgence to mobile platforms, will gain good momentum with Assassin’s Creed. The company also announced that it would establish a new platform to bring together all the games from the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
