The augmented reality (AR) game New Fantasy, in which players burn calories through innovative gameplay mechanics that demand running, squatting, and aiming to be successful, is nominated for public voting at the recognized XR show AWE, which will take place in LA between June 18 and 20
Created by the multi-awarded ONTOP Studios, the team behind the Apple feature PuzzlAR: World Tour and the AR brand activations Vodafone Rockout, and Samsung x Snapdragon ARcade Sports, New Fantasy is the latest release from the studio.
ONTOP CEO Nuno Folhadela said, “It’s our 3rd nomination for an Auggie Awards, and who knows, this time we will bring that beautiful prize home. It would be a wonderful recognition of our game fusion of Monster Hunter with Wii Sports, that already put thousands of people playing around the world, in the real world.”
Besides New Fantasy, ONTOP is currently working on two AR titles that will be released between 2024 and 2025. These titles will feature cross-device features that connect smartphones and headsets.
