Pocket Worlds has announced the launch of Highrise Studio and Highrise 4.0, enhancing its flagship platform, Highrise, to empower creators in building and monetizing immersive worlds using Unity. Highrise, a virtual world platform with over 40 million users, aims to foster shared experiences and connections among individuals.
Highrise has gained popularity as a creative virtual world where users can express themselves through avatars, forge friendships, and engage with user-generated content. With 680,000 weekly users spending an average of 90 minutes in-game, Highrise has become a dynamic hub for creativity, featuring accessories aligned with pop culture trends.
Highrise Studio provides creators with a suite of development tools within Unity, allowing them to design 3D game modes, environments, assets, and more seamlessly. These creations can be integrated into the Highrise world with a single click. Highrise 4.0, a complete overhaul of the Highrise world in Unity, offers quality-of-life updates for players, including enhanced character and profile customization options.
Creators utilizing Highrise Studio can earn income through the Creator Exchange program, which compensates designers based on sales and engagement time. In 2023, nearly half a million dollars were paid to creators, with over 5,000 designers contributing unique items.
Anton Bernstein, CEO of Pocket Worlds, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to facilitate immersive experiences and foster global connections through Highrise. The platform aims to address the fundamental human need for connection by empowering individuals to participate in creative virtual worlds.
Highrise 4.0 is now live for players, offering an improved user experience, while Highrise Studio is available for creators to utilize and deploy their creations into the Highrise environment.
