Polytopia releases new naval update Path of The Ocean

The title has now been downloaded more than 20 million times and received accolades from The Lovie Awards, International Mobile Gaming Awards, and the PC Indie Pitch.

Sweden-based Midjiwan’s award-winning strategy game, The Battle of Polytopia, announced the sea-changing launch of new naval units, maps, and technologies in a major update, Path of the Ocean.

After months of development, the update brings uncharted waters to Polytopia through never-seen-before open-sea combat, exploration, and strategic elements. Path of the Ocean introduces new units and techs, allowing players to plan and execute much more complex naval strategies across beautifully crafted nautical-focused maps.

Full details about the update are in the Steam blog post, including new maps, units, and technologies.

Christian Lövstedt, General Manager at Polytopia developer, Midjiwan, commented:

“We want Path of the Ocean to introduce our players to exciting ways to harness the power of the waves to defend their territory or change the tides of battle with aggressive naval plays. We’re excited to roll out these features and see how our players make use of them in the new maps.”

Since its launch in 2016, Polytopia has captivated more than 20 million players worldwide across mobile, PC, and Nintendo Switch, as well as in Tesla cars. The game is currently on offer at a 40% discount in the Steam Autumn Sale and can be downloaded for free on Apple App Store and Google Play.
