Each Genopet will come as NFT. Tamagotchi and Pokémon heavily inspire Genopets and the game’s main mechanic, move-to-earn, involves players’ physical activities. After completing the daily steps goal, steps convert into energy used to evolve, train and customize Genopets. There is also a battle mode where Genopets can battle against each other for rewards.

The gaming company says, “Genopets is the gamification of an active lifestyle. Walking around the mall? Jogging at the gym? Running between meetings in your office? No matter how you stay active, your Genopet is always by your side, counting the steps you’ll use to fuel your gameplay.”

The game uses a dual-token system that comprises KI and GENE Token, each with its own function and in-game utility. GENE Token is the governance and staking token used for Genesis NFT sales, seasonal drops, and in-game for crafting valuable items. KI Token is an in-game utility token. Habitat owners can harvest KI by converting Energy from steps daily. KI is burned when used and has a max daily earning cap.
