Stardust, known for its Web3 gaming infrastructure and user acquisition services, will integrate its Wallets-as-a-Service (WaaS) product into Shrapnel’s tech stack and Neon Machine‘s game development platform, Mercury.
Marc Mercuri, Chief Blockchain Officer at Shrapnel, said:
“The action in Shrapnel is fast-paced and we needed a wallet solution that was fast enough to keep up with our needs. Wallets are also critical infrastructure, so it’s essential to have confidence that the team behind it would be there if we hit any issues. Stardust’s performance has been double-digit percentages faster than the other Wallet-as-a-Service products we looked at, and we could not ask for more in terms of partnership and engagement from their team.”
The integration of Stardust’s WaaS aims to simplify accessing and managing wallets, particularly for players unfamiliar with blockchain technology. By providing invisible, custodial wallets, Stardust enables players to enjoy the gaming experience seamlessly while leveraging the underlying Shrapnel subnet. Shrapnel operates its own Subnet on Avalanche, along with its proprietary token and various in-game NFTs.
Shrapnel, developed by a team of BAFTA and Emmy award-winning industry veterans, emerged from HBO Interactive. Leveraging their expertise in transmedia, virtual production, gaming-as-a-service, and blockchain production, the team aims to deliver an immersive gaming experience. The game is currently available in early access on the Epic Games Store, focusing on integrating deep blockchain functionality beneath AAA-quality gameplay.
Canaan Linder, CEO of Stardust, added:
“Shrapnel is one of the most anticipated games in the blockchain space, and Stardust is proud to support them with blockchain infrastructure and growth. Working with the Shrapnel team has given us complete conviction that their extraction shooter will bring tens of millions of players into the blockchain gaming space. Together, Stardust and Shrapnel will make web3 gaming mainstream and usher in a new era of gaming.”
This partnership signifies a significant step forward for both Stardust and Shrapnel, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance the gaming experience for players and provide scalability for future developments.
