Set to kick off on February 8 and run until February 10, the early access period, dubbed Shrapnel Training Exercises One (STX1), will be available from 1 PM to 9 PM PT. During this time, players will be able to immerse themselves in the game’s initial build, experiencing one of the characters at their highest progression level.

Early access participants will have access to three different firearms, a grenade, and a unique “Sigma ability.” To join the early access phase, players must purchase an “Extraction Pack” access key. The basic pack is priced at $19.99, while premium packs, offering additional in-game items, consumable packs, and skins, are available for $49.99 and $99.99.

Excitement is brewing as players will have the chance to compete for a substantial prize pool of $100,000 during the inaugural Shrapnel test, supported by RNGFoundation. The top-ranking player will walk away with $10,000, while second and third place will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.

Developed entirely on the Avalanche blockchain by Neon Machine, Shrapnel is scheduled for a full release in 2025 as a free-to-play game.

Back in October 2023, crypto.news reported that Neon Machine secured $20 million in Series A funding, with Polychain Capital leading the investment round. Other investors include Griffin Gaming Partners, Brevan Howard Digital, Franklin Templeton, IOSG Ventures, and Tess Ventures.
