PlayStation Studios’s Sucker Punch mainly stands out with its open-world action-adventure games. Ghost of Tsushima is their latest work in this genre and the game is celebrating its two-year anniversary. The game was released on PlayStation 4 in July 2020, followed by a PlayStation 5 release in August 2021.

The studio shared some interesting stats to celebrate the two-year mark since the release of the game and thanked the fans for their continuous support. Per the data Sucker Punch shared on its social media channels, Ghost of Tsushima sold 9.73 copies in its lifetime. Players took over 78 million in-game pictures via the photo mode that comes with the game.

The game takes place in 1274 during a Mongol invasion on the island of Tsushima, and the players control Jin Sakai a samurai warrior also known as the “Ghost”. It’s a PlayStation exclusive at the moment, but with PlayStation games making their way to PC, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before the company announces the PC release of the highly successful action-adventure.

Whatever update will come from Sony, won’t come from Gamescom 2022 though, as the Big Tech co. decided to skip this year’s expo. Sony prefers to release announcements via its State of Play presentations or via its studios’ social media channels lately. Fans have been wanting Ghost of Tsushima Part 2 for some time now and after seeing how well the game has sold, they may announce a new game and turn it into a series.

In other news, Sony promised a significant ramp-up in PS5 production for the rest of this year, and the video games giant closed the deal of Bungie’s acquisition. It will be interesting to see how Bungie’s titles perform under PlayStation’s leadership and support.
