Sports-focused NFT gaming, streaming, and entertainment platform Stadium Live announced a $10 million Series A funding round to develop and take its platform a step further. Round led by KB Partners and Union Square Ventures with support of Kevin Durant’s 35 Ventures, Origins Fund, Dapper Labs Ventures, Position Ventures, Valhalla Ventures, 6th Man Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Breakout Capital.
Kevin Kim, the co-founder of the company, used the following words in an interview with TechCrunch:
“The sports industry has been really slow at adapting to a new generation of fans. The industry hasn’t found a good way to engage with them. And that’s what we’re trying to solve.”

Stating that they are incredibly proud of their work and their teams so far, Stadium Live Studios said that they are very excited that what they have built has turned into a cultural phenomenon. Blaise Matuidi, the founder of Origins Fund and a 2018 FIFA World Cup Champion, shared his views on the investment tour with the following words:
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand Gen Z sports fans’ desire to connect with their teams and fellow supporters on a deeper, more interactive level. Stadium Live is the most relevant way for fans to gather and engage in the sports ecosystem. I’m very happy to be part of the Stadium Live adventure alongside an incredible champion like Kevin Durant.”
Stadium Live Studios has 25 employees, according to its LinkedIn page. Founded in Canada by Kevin Kim and Paul Xu in January 2020, the startup includes highly qualified developers from all over the industry. In addition, co-founder Kevin Kim is an experienced name working in the fields of Head of Product and Product Design in many different companies.
