Nintendo’s newest platform hit, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, became the fastest-selling Mario game in Europe. The game was released on October 20 and ranked 5th in the UK charts.
Nintendo shared the news on its social media, saying, “Wowie zowie! In its first three days on sale, Super Mario Bros. Wonder has become Europe’s fastest-selling Super Mario game. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this a wonderful launch.”
Nintendo has yet to release data for North America and Japan, making it difficult to compare how Super Mario Bros. Wonder’s worldwide sales measure up to Europe. As of now, Super Mario Bros. Wonder stands as the fifth-largest physical game release of the year, but it was recently surpassed by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Our friendly neighborhood Spidey has achieved remarkable success, with over 2.5 million copies sold, and became the fastest-selling game ever released by PlayStation Studios.
