The Turkish video games giant TaleWorlds finally announced the official release date of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. According to the official release date announcement, Bannerlord will launch on October 25, 2022, for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Earlier this month, TaleWorlds also let the gaming world know that Bannerlord’s console version is available for public testing at Gamescom 2022. The Ankara-based gaming entity shared a juicy gameplay trailer alongside the release date announcement, showing scenes from battles and sieges players can experience within the game.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s early access version was released back on March 27, 2020, and the game became the biggest launch of the year on Steam, acquiring more than 600,000 concurrent players.

Both TaleWorlds and Mount & Blade as a series have strong ties with the modding scene. However, the title being in the early access period and getting regular updates made it nearly impossible for the modders to shine. A significant portion of players and modders alike were holding back for months till the game fully launches.

It will be interesting to see how Bannerlord will do on consoles; this is the first time a Mount & Blade game launches simultaneously on PC and consoles, and considering how modding adds great value to a Mount & Blade game, console versions may not be able to retain users at the same rate as their sibling PC.
