US-based video game developer Telltale announced today that it had raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Hiro Capital and joined by Skybound Entertainment. Raised funds will be used for The Expanse: A Telltale Series, its first new title since 2018, and The Wolf Among Us 2, which was canceled a few years ago.

Telltale’s CEO Jamie Ottilie told Axios “We wanted to make sure we could continue development on our existing slate while we had the resources to properly market The Expense to bring it out later this summer.”
Telltale had couple of rough years since the it went bankrupt in October 2018 and the studio was closed within mere days. LCG Entertainment purchased Telltale in 2019 and since then players have been waiting for a “rise of the phoenix” story from their favourite narrative video game studio.
