The funding round was led by Framework Ventures.

Founded in February, blockchain analytics firm Thridwave has raised over $7 million from a seed investment round led by Framework Ventures. Participants in the tour included Animoca Brands, Shima Capital, Play Ventures, Oceans Ventures, Double Peak Group, and Hustle Fund.

Today, app and game developers draw on many insights to improve their monetization strategies and make their apps and games profitable. With the guidance of marketing experts, these insights reveal successful scenarios, and companies and studios can sustain their profits.

However, the situation in the Web3 industry is a little more complicated. The number of tools that offer specific insights in this field is very few, even when there is such great demand. This is where Thirdwave comes in and makes strides to close the gap in the industry.

Framework Ventures’ Boss Michael Anderson said in a statement to GamesBeat:

“Today’s Web3 developers don’t have access to meaningful customer data insights, which in turn creates major inefficiencies in the building process. With their past experience building and scaling data discovery engines for consumer giants like Facebook, we think Thirdwave is positioned to give Web3 projects, especially in the gamefi space, the ability to truly understand their users.”

Thirdwave, the first blockchain discovery engine on the market, empowers clients’ projects with analytics and insights. With their vision of accelerating the transition to a decentralized and property-oriented economy, the company was founded in February this year by Peter Jonas and Matt Lorenzen.

Peter Jonas previously served as Executive Chairman of Compass and previously held the Director of Uber. Jonas is one of the key figures in Compass’s hyper-growth journey to more than 150 offices and 10,000+ employees.

Matt Lorenzen has been at Facebook (currently Meta) for more than 11 years. As a Founding Member of Facebook’s Mobile App Install team, Matt played critical roles during the company’s transition from desktop to mobile devices. Lorenzen currently serves as Thirdwave’s COO.
