As we leave April behind and venture into May, we explore the top-grossing casual mobile games that have captured the attention of millions worldwide. Our friends at Appmagic provide the data, and the full list can be viewed on their website.
Most of the games remained in their seat from March, and Monopoly GO! claimed the top spot once again. The game has been spending a lot of money on ads; you cannot go a day without watching at least one, and it seems that Scopely has figured out how to stay on top of those ads.
The rest of the list is exactly the same as the previous month; the only change comes from Bingo Blitz by Playtika, joining the top 10, replacing Ocean Fortune by Tuyoo Online. Ocean Fortune dropped to 18th in April, a huge drop considering it has been doing well in March.
Royal Match by Turkish giants Dream Games solidified its spot as the highest-earning match-3 game, leaving its rival Candy Crush behind once again. King’s Co-Founder, the legendary Riccardo Zacconi, commented on Royal Match’s success a few months ago, saying, “If you focus on execution, making the game better, surprising customers, and keeping them entertained, you can keep them for a very long time, and the game is still in the top charts. And I think Dream Games is another example of that.“
Both Monopoly GO! and Royal Match also managed to take a spot in top-grossing games, becoming third and fourth, respectively, behind Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile.
