Before we enter a new month, SuperData always shares the top grossing mobile games in the month before. During the month, coronavirus crisis was higher than ever and we already saw an increase in gaming usage and spending. According to the latest report by the company, spending on digital games reached $10.0B in March. Citizens are searching for different sources of entertainment, therefore, March had the highest spending in month title. If we compare it to March 2019, we will see an 11 percent rise where spending on digital games were $9.0B.

Here are the top grossing mobile games for March 2020

Based on SuperData’s report, Tencent’s Honour of Kings sits in the first place, just like it did last month. Playrix’s Gardenscapes followed Honour of Kings while Candy Crush Saga dropped from second place to the third. Last Shelter: Survival stayed in fourth place while Pokemon GO climbed one tier and got the fifth place. At the sixth place comes Moon Active’s Coin Master followed by Roblox and Monster Strike. Supercell’s Clash of Clans dropped from fifth place last month to the ninth in March. Closing the top 10, Mafia City was the last game on the top grossing mobile games list.

Furthermore, in the report, we knew that mobile games revenue was up 15% year-over-year and reached $5.7B during March. Several major titles also saw a rise in revenue such as Pokemon Go. Its revenue rose to $111M in March (up 18% month-over-month) after publisher Niantic made tweaks to the game to make it easier to play without physically moving. 

What about other gaming earnings

Based on the same report, Premium console revenue rose from $883M in February to $1.5B in March (64 percent increase). revenue rose 56% during the same period ($363M to $567M). On Consoles, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the top grossing game while Dungeon Fighter was the top grossing game for PC.
