Mobile game publisher Boombit has penned a publishing agreement with the game development studio Charged Monkey to bring the Train King Tycoon simulator game to mobile gamers.
Kicking off in 1831 in Baltimore, US, Train King Tycoon is a train simulation game that spans 200 years of railroad history, allowing players to connect the East Coast with the West Coast.
The game features authentic “diorama models,” resembling miniature workshop creations to provide players with an immersive experience that’ll see them collect different types of trains, ranging from steam engines to diesel locomotives, and more, to build a successful railroad company.
Based in Prague, Czechia, and Bratislava, Slovakia, Charged Monkey’s mid-sized studio is focused on combining experiences from major IPs whilst also creating and developing their own IPs as they transition into “games as a service.”
After it was established in 2015 by industry veterans, Charged Monkey developed its debut game, “What The Hen!” in late 2016 and has since focused on bringing games with a “premium feel and depth to mobile platforms.
Boombit, on the other hand, specializes in various departments from Art, Design, Business Intelligence, Games Creatives, User Acquisition, and Data Analysis. They’re known for crafting games like Ramp Car Jumping, Slingshot Stunt Driver & Sports, Tiny Gladiators, Darts Club, and Hunt Royale.
While there’s no official launch date for Train King Tycoon yet, it’ll see players go through a puzzle production core loop where they can manage resources, dispatch trains, and expand their empire.
