Service Exporters Association, an organization that aims to provide networking, support, address and solve the issues of Türkiye’s exporters, held an event titled “Service Export Champions of the Year 2021”. As the sole representative of the service exporters in Türkiye, the event hosts the country’s top exporters from various segments of the service industry. According to the association, Türkiye’s service industry has achieved 61.4 billion dollars in exports.
This year, the event hosted 51 companies from 17 service industry segments. Loop Games tops the segment of software and information technology companies. As the developer of Match 3D, Pathereum, and Match Tile 3D, Loop Games was visited personally by the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank. The visit occurred after the company achieved exports of 200 million dollars with the hyper-casual game developed in 3 months with a team of 20 people.
After being briefed by the company founder Mert Gür, minister Varank remarked that it’s notable that a company of 20 people realized 200 million Turkish liras in taxes and noted:
“The team of 20 people sold a game they made in 3 months and brought 200 million dollars of export income to Turkey. Here is what we call the new economy, the value-added economy.”
Loop Games is located in Hacettepe Teknokent. Established in 2003, it’s one of the first technopolises in Türkiye dedicated to R&D and technology companies. These technopolises continue to give birth to successful gaming companies that all had their share in the impressive rise and success of Türkiye’s game industry in 2022.
Mert Gür, the founder of Loop Games, announced the success on his LinkedIn account:
“As Loop Games, we are proud of being Türkiye’s top software and IT company according to exports. We are delighted to contribute to Turkey’s export success of 61.4 billion dollars in 2021. It makes us very proud to achieve such success with a small team of 15 people. My teammates’ hard work and dedication made this success possible. I would like to thank all my teammates who contributed to this success.”
Türkiye’s game industry appears to likely keep its growth trend as per predictions, and success stories like this are manifestations of this.
