Ultra, a complete PC video gaming ecosystem built around a next-generation PC games store, is challenging the status quo in game distribution. Created by AAA games industry veterans from companies like Ubisoft, Wargaming, Playstation, and Nintendo, Ultra provides access to various services for developers and players in one ecosystem under a single login.

The Ultra Games store is the platform’s flagship offering, with an extensive catalog of games and features such as an built-in marketplace, reselling of games, a competitive game platform, and community management support.

These features aim to create vibrant communities by opening direct communication channels between all parties. It also provides endless value to players and developers by offering a more contemporary and intuitive approach to discoverability and community management for games of all sizes. It also aims to provide a fairer revenue split for developers and publishers.

Nicolas Gilot, Co-CEO at Ultra, commented:

“The PC gaming distribution market is running out of steam and ripe for disruption. Yes, the leading legacy platforms have been incredibly successful to date, but we believe there’s much room for improvement for gamers, devs, and pubs. We explicitly engineered Ultra Games to address critical issues such as high fees for developers and a lack of real, flexible game ownership for players. This is still only the beginning for us, but by addressing these issues, we want to help create more meaningful, more transparent relationships between communities. I can’t wait to see this vision start to come to fruition after five years of development and listening to the needs of developers and players.”

The Ultra Games store will be accessible globally from April 25th, 2023, and can be downloaded for PC. Launch titles include Lords of the Fallen, The Walking Dead Definitive Series, WRC7, the Syberia series, and the Beholder series. The store has been rigorously beta tested with a passionate community of more than 1,000 gamers worldwide.

Yves Bléhaut, SVP, Strategic Partnerships at Microids, added:

“We are delighted to be a part of the Ultra Games launch, offering our cherished titles to an enthusiastic gaming community. The Ultra Games store provides a distinctive opportunity for fans to explore and experience our games, and we can’t wait to witness what the future holds in partnership with Ultra.”

The platform also offers a referral system that gives players a percentage of their friends’ game purchases. Game developers and publishers can choose whether or not to activate these blockchain-enabled features for their titles and set parameters that work for their business and their community.
