The American mobile game developer and publisher Zynga completed the acquisition of the mobile growth and app store optimization platform Storemaven. Per Zynga’s official release, the mobile gaming giant will use Storemaven’s expertise to expand its mobile marketing expertise and combine its innovative mobile technologies with Zynga’s portfolio. The acquisition fee was not disclosed.
Storemaven was founded back in 2015 by Gad Maor, Adam Rakib, and Eldad Abel, and the Israeli company mainly focuses on creating innovative mobile growth and app store optimization technologies. The company will boost Zynga’s reach across the world and help augment the American game maker’s strong position in the mobile market.
Zynga has been exploring different markets and audiences as of late and diversifying its approach. The company announced an unlikely partnership with cosmetics giant Maybelline at the end of August. This partnership also marked the first time a beauty brand showed presence in the hyper-casual gaming space to promote its products.
Alex Tremblay, Executive Vice President, and Chief Data Officer at Zynga said the company has been interested in innovative publishing technologies and connecting players to fun and engaging experiences since forever, and then added the following:
“With our acquisition of Storemaven, we gain additional, unmatched technologies and expertise to expand Zynga’s publishing platform and to solidify our leading position in the marketplace. Storemaven brings world-class optimization and intelligence technologies that are crucial to the success of publishing mobile games. We are excited to officially welcome this talented team to the Zynga family.”
Gad Maor, CEO of Storemaven believes this new partnership will be fruitful and maximize the impact of both companies’ products. Maor said:
“Zynga’s rich culture in data-driven decision making and innovation, expansive reach, and enormous ambitions have made them an important partner for us. This combination allows us to maximize the impact of our expertise and products.
“We look forward to combining our technologies and unique culture with Zynga’s massive portfolio and Chartboost’s advertising platform, opening the door to building a world-class publishing platform that will launch global hits at scale.”
Yaron Leyvand, Executive Vice President, Games at Zynga also commented:
“Israel has firmly established itself as a hotbed of technological innovation. This acquisition grants Zynga a meaningful footprint in the region. This exciting deal also allows us to continue building Zynga’s leading in-house technical capabilities and opens up our ability across the company to tap into the passionate and highly-skilled talent community in Israel.”
The mobile gaming giant Zynga was fully acquired by Take-Two Interactive back in late May 2022, Take-Two and Zynga shared a joint financial report a little over a month ago, posting positive results across several key metrics.
